MOCKE - L'anguille L.P. (OBJET DISQUE 004)

The most distinctive guitar sound in french pop music, and my favourite guitar sound, is courtesy of Mocke. You might know him from Holden or Arlt, two bands I warmly recommend as well.
Objet Disco is about to release his first solo record, called L'anguille (The eel), which is a fully instrumental LP. The tracks available on Objet Disque's bandcamp make me eager for more. It's cinematographic, pop, experimental but still immediate. I could listen to the three released tracks for days and days. Have a listen.
Release date: september 15.

(cover illustration by Porto Allegre based artist Daniel Eizirik)

What a summer! No time to sleep with all the great records being released.
Brazilian Shakedown is African Shakedown's little brother, which introduced me to the huge Ata Kak. The Brazilian Shakedown EP offers a string of excellent psychedelic remixes, edits and originals.

DJ Marcio Vermelho from Sao Paulo, Carrot Green from Rio, Thomash, part of the Voodoohop are contributing tracks and I'm discovering the producers as I'm writing this, so it's quite exciting and I can't wait to start investigating and hearing their sounds.

Volkan Akaalp - Baskin OST (Giallo Disco Records)

Giallo Disco's taste is impeccable. their releases ooze quality and the forthcoming release is no exception. It's the soundtrack to Can Evranol's movie Baskin. The story is about four cops discovering a nightmare of Lovecraftian proportions during a routine investigation.
The score has been made by Volkan Akaalp, a dj/producer/composer from Istanbul.
The tracks stands very well on their own (I can especially say this, since I haven't seen the flick)
remix duties are handled by Vercetti Technicolor, Antoni Maiiovi, DJ Ghettoscrapers and Volkan himself.
I warmly recommend you to have a listen and pre-order the lp.

Greeen Linez - Hibiscus Pacific (Alliance Upholstery)

A couple of days before leaving on holiday I wrote about Greeen Linez' remix release on Catune Records.
Now, I'm close to returning home and here they are again.

Hibiscus Pacific” originally appeared on their debut album “Things That Fade” but has now received a proper 12" release, and thanks Alliance Upholstery for that.
Hibiscus pacific is a proper balearic banger that will fit nicely in my summer comp with other releases such as Barnaby Bruce's "This Time Around", Paqua remixes, Sketches of an Island and José Padilla's new 12s on International Feel.

Sorcerer, Jacques Green and Moon B were in charge of the remixes.
Sorcerer sticks to the balearic formula (and does it really well) whereas Jacques Green and Moon B take the track to different synth territories. I have a crush on the Moon B version.
Have a listen below.

Hibiscus Pacific is available now, so don't sleep on this one.

Bernard Szajner Z (aka Bernard Szajner) presents Visions of Dune (In Finé Music)

In Finé is about to reissue Zed aka Bernard Szajner’s "Visions of Dune".
It's an alternative soundtrack to Frank Herbert's monster sci-fi novel.
I'm a huge Dune fan so this might be the best Dune related news for quite some time.
It's kosmisch, has drones, it'selectronic and avant-garde but more importantly, it's beautiful.

You'll find more info about Zed at The Vinyl Factory and The Drone.

Andy Votel has made a minimix guiding us throug Zed's Arakis.
It's huge.

Yelle - Bouquet Final

New Yelle track!
LP will be out in fall and a tour is planned as well.
Can't wait to see her live again

Black - Tabanka EP (Interzona13)

The good people of Test Pressing have posted a track to be released on Tiago's Interzona 13 imprint. Black is Nelson Gomes' DJ moniker. you might also know him from Gala Drop, Filho Único or Príncipe Discos.  Well, he has edited 3 african killer tracks four that will surely fill the dancefloors.
It should be out this month.

Think of me remixed by Acid Arab.
You all know what to expect from them by now, and I'm sure you all know it's hot!!!
Highly recommended
