Paradis releases new single: Sur une chanson en français

Sur une chanson en français, new track - new hit by french electronic pop band Paradis.
They've been on a continuous winning streak since they released their first 2 EPs on Beats in space. Add a string of interesting remixes for artists such as Jacques Renault and Agoria to that as well.
There is something absolutely classy about the way they sing. the lyrics well written, the french they use is exquisite and it is extremely well sung. Pure class with that pinch of melancholy i'm really fond of. The EP should be out in january (i'm hoping for a vinyl edition) and the album should be out next year as well.

S.L.Y.C. - A deafening light (Metronomicon audio)

S.L.Y.C. is Sara Lena Yri Cools' project, belgian citizen but born and brought up in Norway.
Her folk composition are delicate and hazy with a subtle touch noise.
I believethat, although different, Broadcast and Stereolab lovers will like this record as well.
A deafening light is available digitally and on cd (100 copies) on Metronomicon's bandcamp page.

The Jazz workshop - Mezare Israel Yekabtzenu (Fortuna Records)

The good people at Fortuna Records have been preparing a new release for us ladies and chaps!
Mezare Israel Yekabtzenu is a rare deep, spiritual Israeli jazz album from 1973. It is an east meets west kind of thing. Arab, Druze and Jewish compositions are mingled with the hardcore New-York jazz sound of the 60’s. And it's sounds great! Can't wait to have that one.
Release date: 01.12.14

Mirror People - Wrong Speed Records

I think we've all experienced at some point. we play a record at 45 instead of 33 and it sounds better.
Mirror people took this sonic experience one step further and made a compilation out of it.
Have a listen if you have doubts. The tracks do sound good at the wrong speed.

College Feat. Nola Wren - Save The Day (Valerie)

Gosh, there's something with College's sound that really strikes a chord with me.
It works all the time.
So, unsuprisingly I love his new track "Save The Day" featuring Nola Wren,
and the she fits like a glove in David Grellier's fantasized 80s synth universe.

Shinichi Atobe - Butterfly Effect (DDS)

 (All images taken from Boomkat)

In 2001 Shinichi Atobe released a 12", Ship Scope, on Chain Reaction.
(That record is being sold for insane prices today)
After that release Shinichi dissapeared from the earth's surface.

Ship Scope has always been a Demdike Stare favourite, which isn't that much of a surprise after listening to the tracks, so they decided to track Shinichi down. They succeeded and actually managed to compile a record of old an new tracks from the japanese producer. Butterfly Effect is out now on Demdike's DDS own imprint. (The cd version contains bonus tracks)

Drone, techno, house, ambient. The tracks i've heard so far are really really nice.
