After a long process of searching, restoring and a careful remastering, we are pleased to present a very carefully selected collection of hard-to-find tracks from the vanguard Spanish techno scene from the 80s. All the material featured on the Non Plus Ultra 1980-1987, except for the group from Zaragoza Vam Cyborg, has never been officially released before: most of these tracks should be regarded as demos although some bands had the chance to record them on cassette or reel-to-reel and even in a few cases could have had a limited distribution. This has made it possible for us to recover some of these recordings which we believe should not be lost to oblivion.
We present a repertoire of some pioneer groups, which are as unknown as they are interesting, creative, and ahead of their times. After nearly thirty years’ silence they have stood the test of time and still sound as contemporary as they did then.
For the first time they will be released in LP format in a limited edition of 525 copies.
Hand made cover. Gatefold with heavy weight brown board (390 gram). 180 gram vinyl. Includes postcard and compiled dossier with detailed information regarding all the bands featured on the Non Plus Ultra 1980-1987 album.

Another great Release is Jonathan Fitoussi's Pluralis LP.electro-acoustic soundscapes with light ambient and drony touches. difficult to describe but believe me it is GOOD!

This is the second volume of The Minimal Wave Tapes series, a collection of rare electronic music compiled from bands around the world, Most of the songs were recorded in the 1980s and originally released on limited edition cassettes or vinyl by the artists themselves, and only a handful of people knew about them. Now they've been remastered from their analog source tapes, brought to you by Veronica Vasicka and Peanut Butter Wolf.

The Minimal Wave musical genre was hallmarked by the use of the analog synths and drum machines manufactured in the 70s and 80s, and characterized by simple music structures made by musicians working in the early D.I.Y. aesthetic: recording on tape in their home studios, creating their own album artwork, and often collaborating via postage mail. The fanzine CLEM (Contact List Of Electronic Musicians) was very influential in creating a worldwide community for this sort of music, before digital technology and the Internet came into play.

Minimal Wave the label was founded in New York City in 2005 by Veronica Vasicka, who focused the label solely on obscure Minimal Wave recordings, researching, re-mastering and releasing them on limited vinyl and digital.

Krom Monster are an experimental quintet combining traditional Cambodian instruments with contemporary electronics and improvisation.

The band was formed as part of Neak Ta, a cultural project led by Incidental UK-based creative organisation, in collaboration with Cambodian Living Arts. A limited edition pressing of the full album is available via Rough Trade, with digital downloads also available via iTunes & all usual outlets.

Krom Monster are: Phon Chamroeun, David Gunn, Pov Punisa, Lun Sophanit & Sour Vanna. All samples used on this release were recorded on location in Phnom Penh, May-July 2010.

200 Years is Six Organs of Admittan's Ben Chasny and Magik Markers' Elisa Ambrogio.

It's a real pleasant surprise. I remember a six organs of admittance concert during which they performed together and nothing i heard then could forecast this new project. It was an excellent concert by the way. It's a more gentle sonic experience , vocally as well by the way. This is the type of music i'd to listen to during a long train ride, or on a sunday morning at home in front of an open fire I don't have.

As stated on Drag city's website:" these mooks manage to light candles and curse the darkness all in one record. Guitars, vocals, heavy air, faint strains."

Highly recommended music.
